Mudrooms & the Organised Hallway

The Autumn months are here in the UK. I have been looking at ideas for organisation with welly boots and waterproofs. This painted Shaker styling has inspired me today, fabulous with combined seating.

Rustic Simplicity in the Hallway

wikipedia.org ; chest (also called coffer or kist) is one of the oldest forms of furniture. It is typically a rectangular structure with four walls and a liftable lid, for storage. The interior space may be subdivided. The early uses of an Antique chest or coffer included storage of fine cloth, weapons, foods and valuable items.

Simple light spaces showcase dark oak furniture.
Antique treasure chests look fabulous against a white, chalk painted wall.

Coffers provide practical storage and the perfect height to position under a mirror.
Love this antique coffer .....well travelled, possibly from Persia,
adds an element of curiosity in a room.

I haven't seen a bleached raw wood coffer before....love it! Low level coffers are my favourite, perfect for sitting on in a hall. We have a 17th century coffer at home.
The design simplicity of this period works well in today's interior.

Cowhide Rugs - for period and contemporary spaces

Cow hide rugs look fabulous in period homes and contemporary spaces, the perfect finishing touch to a room. Contrasting two colour print and natural colour pigmentation provide a link to your colour scheme. Brown and white the perfect choice for dark wooden floors.

This bold contrasting natural South American cowhide rug in black & white a bi-product, looks dramatic in a teenagers bedroom or a studio.

I love the eclectic mood in this modern colonial styled hallway using a zebra print rug, it works wonderfully with the contrasting white walls and dark wood effect floor.

I am decorating my hallway soon, my choice would be is this sumptuous, deluxe Zebra printed & dyed cowhide rug

In this beautiful hallway, the cowhide rug provides a warm, spacious feel to the dark wood floor, linking with the wall colour. A selection of both natural and printed cowhide rugs guaranteed a bi-product at www.mailorderrugs.co.uk
